Jaffa
The once largest neighborhood in Palestine, and the oldest known port in the world, Jaffa is filled with architecture from the Ottoman Period, British Mandate, with a contemporary twist. From massive domes, to quaint doors, to the historic churches and the alley ways through the old city...the eye is always left wandering in this port city! Some of its famous sights include the clock tower built in 1906 in honor of Sultan Abdul Hamid, Jaffa Hill, which rises to a height of 40 meters, several churches some that date back to as far as 1654 like the St. Peters Church which was built on remains of Crusaders fortress, and finally, mosques that were built so far back that the date of construction is still unknown.
